63rd CTAA Conference & AGM Recap

Posted by Shara - December 19, 2018 - Uncategorized

The 63rd annual conference was held in Regina November 11-14 and was attended by almost 300 delegates.

The delegates along with 20 Accompanying Guests enjoyed the conference and local areas. For those members who were not able to attend the conference, the technical proceeding was mailed before Christmas so should be in your possession.

The pre-conference course this year was on the topic of Technical Aspects of Seal Coats and was presented by Jean-Martin Croteau, Tony Kucherek, Trevor Moore, Chris Dechkoff and Nathan Prosko.  There were 80 registrants for the course and very positive feedback from all attendees.  The CTAA is thankful for the members who put together and presented this course on their own time, it is through such efforts that we continue to provide a forum for the exchange of relevant technical information.  Course attendee can obtain their participation certificate for PDH’s from their profile on the member portal.

Course participants – login to the Members area and under ‘My Account’ on the ribbon bar, select ‘My Certificates’ to print your certificate for the course.

The CUPGA workshop started the conference off on Sunday afternoon with Regional updates from your Regional Directors, on Pavement Preservation Techniques and Strategies and continued with Recycled Asphalt Paving Technology with several RAP/Recycling presentations.  Following the Casino Themed Welcome Reception on Sunday evening, delegates were able to take in 25 technical presentations during the next 3 days as well as the Contractor’s Workshop which continued a focus of pavement preservation and engaged attendees with an interactive questionnaire which prompted relevant discussion and was well received by delegates.
