I am very thankful and feel fortunate to be selected as a winner of this award. The money I will receive from this scholarship would help me in managing my tuition expenses and focus better on my studies. I look forward to graduate with Municipal Engineering Technology very soon and aim to serve the society with my knowledge and expertise in the field of asphalt technology as a future technologist. “
Matea Ceric
Undergraduate Scholarship Winner
University of Waterloo
“Thank you very much for awarding me with the CTAA Undergraduate Scholarship this year! It was so exciting to receive the wonderful news, and I am highly appreciative of the support that this award will provide.
This scholarship will be very helpful to me as I will be able to fund my final year of studies in Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo with a focus on asphalt technology and transportation engineering. I have developed a strong interest in asphalt technology through my work as a research assistant at the Centre for Pavement and Transportation Technology (CPATT) research group at the University of Waterloo. In addition, I plan on obtaining an undergraduate Transportation Specialization within the Civil Engineering department, which includes courses in pavement engineering and asphalt technology, as well as pursuing a transportation engineering master’s degree after graduation. This scholarship will allow me to realize that goal so that I will be able to contribute to the continued exploration and innovation within this highly dynamic field.
Thank you for selecting me for this award, and I am sure that it will go a long way in supporting my education towards a career in asphalt technology! Thank you for your confidence and willingness in helping me to achieve my goals.”
Alyssa Bernier
Graduate Scholarship Winner
Carleton University
“Please accept my sincerest thanks for selecting me as the 2021 Graduate Scholarship recipient. I am truly honored to have been chosen for this award. Being a very recent master’s student has come with additional expenses I had not encountered during my undergrad. This scholarship will help me address these expenses in order to achieve my academic goals. My upcoming research will pertain to asphalt binder rejuvenators and their uses in the Canadian industry, which I will be investigating from Carleton University. I hope my efforts towards this research will prove that I am deserving of this generous contribution on behalf of CTAA. I am deeply grateful for this honor.”
