Master curves are great, they present data about asphalt stiffness at various loading times and temperatures on a single plot allowing you to see how the asphalt behaves over a wide range of conditions. The plot is stiffness versus log reduced time/frequency?? What??

How does one build a Master Curve and then how does one use it to better understand the behaviour of the materials being incorporated into their pavement project? Alan Carter will walk the class through the development and usage of the master curve to help all attendees understand the power of the Master Curve and when, how, and why it is the ideal way to present the characteristics of asphalt materials.

Dr. Alan Carter will also discuss how the Master Curve data is utilized in mechanistic pavement designs and why CTAA members should be comfortable discussing such data on a day-to-day basis.
