The 64th annual conference was held in Montreal on November 24-28 and was attended by about 275 delegates including over 25 student members.
The delegates along with 20 accompanying guests enjoyed the conference and local areas. For those members who were not able to attend the conference, the technical proceedings were mailed before Christmas.

|
The winners of the CTAA annual awards were recognized at the Robert Noble Awards Luncheon on the last day of the conference, Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

The Canadian Technical Asphalt Association welcomes the newest inductee as an honorary member at the Robert Noble Awards Luncheon. Vince was introduced to the attendees by his son Mike Aurilio.

The 64th Annual General Meeting of the Association was held on Monday, November 25, 2019, in conjunction with the Annual Conference. The draft minutes of the AGM are posted in the
member’s area – they can be accessed from the Workspace area “Minutes of Annual General Meetings Files”. Note also that the audited Financial Statements of the Association can also be viewed/downloaded from within this Workspace area (log
in here).

Remember if you paid the non-member fee to attend the Conference in Montreal you were given membership for the remainder of the 2019 membership year (i.e. to December 31/19).
Notices for your 2020 General Membership annual dues have been e-mailed as of January 6th to all. Please take advantage of the early bird payment discount by using the code (Promo2020) as described in the renewal
email.

For 2020, CTAA will again have three scholarships available. In order to be considered for the annual CTAA Scholarships the required materials must be received no later than July 1st. As last
year, applications will be accepted online only. The scholarship information is distributed to schools with an asphalt technology component and can be found on the CTAA web site. If you had summer students working in the industry – reach out to let them know
of its availability

The e-textbook announced this time last year has been downloaded over 100 times and is available to all members free of charge.
It is comprised of 11 chapters covering various aspect of asphalt technology and construction. Chapters cover varied topics on the history of mix design, asphalt and modified asphalt cements, aggregates and additives, mix type
and mix design, as well as testing and production.
This first release does contain typos and some grammatical inconsistencies which will be addressed in subsequent releases – please feel free to forward any errors you identify (admin@ctaa.ca)

The e-textbook can be downloaded via the CTAA store. Please make sure to log in to qualify for the member pricing (FREE!). There is a $20 fee for non-members to download the e-text. This publication
is available in English only.
