Registration is open for the 2026 New Brunswick Paving Workshop
2026 New Brunswick Paving Workshop – Asphalt Paving Inspection Training
Moncton, NB, March 31 – April 1, 2026.
This two-day program is a field-driven adaption of the Asphalt Institute’s Pavement Inspection Course (PIC) – tailored specifically for inspectors working in real-world conditions in Atlantic Canada.
Hosted by New Brunswick’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (NBDTI) and delivered by the Asphalt Institute, this training program provides practical training grounded in industry best practice and real-world field application.
This event also marks the first time the Canadian Technical Asphalt Association (CTAA) has supported the delivery of Asphalt Institute training in Atlantic Canada, creating a meaningful opportunity to connect national technical expertise with regional priorities.
Participants will gain regionally relevant technical knowledge, strengthen professional networks, and explore solutions that enhance pavement performance and long-term durability.
Join us in Moncton for two days of learning, discussion, and collaboration across the asphalt community.
Who Should Attend
This course is ideal for municipal and provincial inspectors, QA/QC staff, consultants, contractors, and engineering technologists responsible for field acceptance and documentation and open to all members of our local asphalt community.
About the Training
This program is a field-focused adaptation of the Asphalt Institute’s Pavement Inspection Course (PIC) designed specifically for inspectors working in active paving environments.
This course emphasizes:
- What inspectors must observe, recognize, and document
- How plant, hauling, placement, and compaction decisions affect performance
- Where pavement failures begin and how to identify early warning signs
- Practical, defensible field decision-making
Participants follow the asphalt process from plant to paver to compaction, connecting each step to long-term pavement durability.
Why take this training
Constructing high-quality asphalt pavement is the goal of the asphalt paving industry. Often overlooked is the importance of effective inspection during paving in achieving that goal. Effective inspection at every stage of the operation, by both the owner and contractor employees, can be the difference between a poor or excellent performing pavement.
