Meet the Winners
Farzana Khan
Applied Technology Scholarship Winner
Georgian College
“The CTAA scholarship will help me financially in my last year in the civil engineering technology program at Georgian College, Ontario. This achievement also inspires me to continue pursuing my goals in a career in asphalt technology and giving back to the community. I am very thankful to the Canadian Technical Asphalt Association for providing this opportunity.”
Febrianto Vincent
Undergraduate Scholarship Winner
University of Calgary
“I would like to thank CTAA for their generosity and continuous support towards students in need, like me. It is a great honor to have been selected as the recipient for the CTAA Undergraduate Scholarship for 2019. This scholarship means a lot to me as it will provide significant assistance towards my tuition as I finish my degree in Chemical Engineering. My past internship with Husky Asphalt and the support from CTAA has motivated me towards pursuing a career in the Asphalt Industry after graduation.”
Mike Aurilio
Graduate Scholarship Winner
University of Waterloo
“I am very grateful to CTAA for awarding me with this scholarship. I hope that in the future I will be able to share my research that involves the use of self-healing elastomers to enhance the properties of asphalt cement and hot mix. I hope that this research will lead to some practical applications and trials of self-healing materials on Canadian roads. I am looking forward to being part of CTAA for many years to come and hope that I will have more opportunities to contribute positively to the organization.”
